It’s Mandela Day again when we take 67 minutes of the day to celebrate the enduring legacy of Nelson Mandela.
It’s a day that calls on all South Africans to make the world a better place. As Magic Transfers, we’re calling on you to make a difference.
So, here are three ways (of many) that you can help this 18 July – for Mandela, for the future and for the betterment of us all.
South Africa remains one of the 62 countries in the world that meet their blood needs every year. This is down to our commitment to voluntary community service.
This Mandela Day is a good time again to unearth your generosity. Give a little of that life-giving good stuff if you haven’t done so in a while. So, no matter where you are, if you are able to and are feeling healthy, why not head down to one of the permanent WP Blood Transfusion centres to save a life?
Ikamva Youth is a non-profit, youth organisation based in Umlazi and Chesterville, and is a place always looking for skills and inspiration to help young people bring about a brighter future.
As a vital part of our country’s outlook, the youth of South Africa needs every hand that it can get. Get on down and help. Perhaps you have a unique academic skill and can help with tutoring, mentoring and broader school work. Any help is good help!
To find out how you can get involved, give Ikamva a call on 031 909 3590.
Everyone and everything deserves respect and upliftment – and many people find helping animals exceptionally rewarding.
As a day for giving yourself for the broader good, the Lock and Key Project initiative at the Woodrock Animal Rescue shelter is a deeply moving one.
It involves buying a lock for R67 and locking it to the fence at its entrance. Keeping the key with you is a reminder of your commitment to our four-legged friends who are often forgotten without a voice of their own.
Find out how you can get involved with this and other initiatives at Woodrock by calling them on 084 585 2418.
Choose to help out this Mandela Day, visit an orphanage, help the elderly or by helping out as suggested above, it will no doubt be a testament to Mandela’s legacy: That it’s true, we are better together and that the humanity of the world will triumph.
Go about your Mandela Day this year the Magic way. If you’re looking to get colleagues or family around. Magic Transfers is the leading way to get where you need to go, and for Mandela Day, the best way to safely help out.
Happy Mandela Day – and goodwill to all!
